This is an "Elf Cup” vase
The Scarlet Elf Cup fungi (Sarcoscypha austriaca) appear at a consistent spot on my daily dog walk at the same time every year. Nestled in the hedgerow they are easy to miss!
I missed it last year as I was in America but was delighted to see them again a few days ago
The vase measures 135 mm high x 145 mm wide
and weighs a hefty 2Kg
I like to keep the glass thick on these so you can see the different layers of colours.
It is signed and dated
