“Elf Cups” Round Bud Vase

This is an "Elf Cup” bud vase.
The Scarlet Elf Cup fungi (Sarcoscypha austriaca) appear at a consistent spot on my daily dog walk at the same time every year. Nestled in the hedgerow they are easy to miss!
What is amazing this year is that this spot has been underwater for most of the last month and still it has managed to show its little face!
The vase measures 110 mm high x 85 mm
This is the first one I have done on such a dark background - I have had to photograph it still in the kiln as it was too hot to take out and I wanted to include it in this evening’s Piece-Of-The-Week!
